What to Expect

Our Stouffville walk-in clinic offers convenient same-day medical care for patients who need treatment without booking an appointment. Our experienced physicians provide prompt, professional walk-in medical care for patients in Stouffville, Whitchurch-Stouffville, Markham, Ballantrae, Goodwood, Gormley, Uxbridge, and surrounding communities. We diagnose and treat a wide range of non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, helping patients receive timely, high-quality care when they need it most.

No appointment is required to visit our walk-in clinic; however, patients may also book a walk-in appointment online to help reduce wait times. We welcome both Ontario residents with a valid Ontario Health Card and visitors or patients without a family physician. Most medically necessary physician services are covered by OHIP. Patients without a valid Ontario Health Card may be responsible for the cost of their visit.

No. Our walk-in clinic provides same-day medical care without an appointment for non-life-threatening illnesses and minor injuries. To reduce your wait time, you may book walk-in appointments on our website.
2. What conditions can your walk-in clinic treat?
Our physicians can assess and treat many common medical concerns, including colds, flu, sore throat, cough, ear infections, urinary tract infections, skin rashes, allergic reactions, minor cuts, sprains, back pain, stomach illnesses, headaches, and other non-emergency medical issues.
3. What should I bring to the walk-in clinic?
Please bring your Ontario Health Card, a list of your current medications and vaccines, and any relevant medical information that may help your physician during your visit.
4. How long will I have to wait?
Wait times vary depending on patient volume and the urgency of each patient’s condition. Our team works hard to provide timely, efficient care while ensuring every patient receives appropriate medical attention.
5. Can I receive a prescription or prescription renewal?
Yes. Our physicians can prescribe medications or renew prescriptions when medically appropriate. Some medications may require follow-up with your regular healthcare provider.
6. Can your physicians refer me to a specialist?
Yes. If additional assessment or treatment is required, our physicians can provide referrals to specialists or order appropriate laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging when medically indicated.
7. Can visitors or people without a family doctor use the walk-in clinic?
Yes. Everyone is welcome to use our walk-in clinic, including visitors, students, and patients who do not currently have a family physician. Please note, patients without a valid Ontario Health Card may have to pay out of pocket for medical visits.
8. When should I go to the emergency department instead of a walk-in clinic?
Walk-in clinics are designed for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries. If you are experiencing chest pain, severe difficulty breathing, signs of stroke, uncontrolled bleeding, severe injuries, or another medical emergency, call 911 or visit your nearest emergency department immediately.
